Title: Study of processing of sal ammoniac skimmings originating from wet batch galvanizing process
Principal investigator: doc. Ing. Jarmila Trpčevská, CSc.
Acronym:
Summary: During the wet hot dip galvanizing process, sal ammoniac skimmings are formed on the zinc bath surface. The flux skimmings are waste, classified in the Hazardous waste category. The project is aimed at investigation into theoretical and practical issues of sal ammoniac skimmings processing via the hydrometallurgical procedure. The effect of various parameters of the hydrometallurgical procedure (leaching medium concentration, temperature, L/S ratio, leaching time) is studied. Subsequently the zinc precipitation process is studied. The aim of the project is to suggest the waste treatment, taking into account environmental aspects.
